The best thing about my living situation is the family. I know have inherited a second mother, another father 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a niece who is absolutely the cutest little girl alive. My mother’s name is Lita & her husband is Hernado. They have five children together, Julia, Milla, Celest, Junior and Antoni. They are all really great, patient and welcoming. During meal times they have been teaching me different words & phrases in Spanish while asking for the English translation. The house itself is in an extremely poor part of Pueblo Nuevo & to be honest I’m a little uncomfortable. I expected to live in a better part of the area, where I had my own space and privacy but the truth is there really isn’t a ‘better’ area since the earthquake. Everyone was hit hard and the area is still enduring reconstruction. I’m sharing a room with Celeste & Milla and now the two of them are in one bed while I am in the other. I feel bad because I know I am putting them out even if they don’t see it that way & selfishly I would like my own room where I can have a little privacy, especially during the current Tsunami of tears that has been taking over my face.
